Research Areas

The Faraone Lab integrates chemical ecology, sensory neurobiology, and sustainable vector management to develop innovative solutions for tick-borne disease prevention. Our work spans molecular mechanisms, behaviour, and translational applications, creating a vertically integrated research program from discovery to deployment. We focus on three interconnected research pillars:

Tick Chemical Ecology and Sensory Neurobiology
Understanding how ticks detect hosts — and how we can disrupt that process

Sustainable Tick Management and Translational Innovation
From chemical discovery to real-world protection

Psilocybin and Neurobehavioural Modulation in Drosophila
A behavioural and neuropharmacological investigation of a natural compound
